Course 2

MANAGING VALUE & COLOR

Course 2 covers the essential principles of seeing accurate value color relationships. Since photographs or printed material cannot reproduce correct value and color, the methods used will be drawing and painting from live subjects. Painting from life will be the main method of instruction for this course.

Other principles covered include: questions that you need to be constantly asking yourself while painting, how to paint the visual effect of light, how value turns form, color theory, color mixing and color temperature.

Studio space will be available to complete assignments in a studio setting.
